Janus

Autumn is breaking down

While I’m still broken

It all dies in the winter

Yet I am already dead

As my tears water my hopeful bones

Nothing grows inside my head

And I know

That leaves turn golden

And snow is always pure

But my exposed and broken ribcage

Is still holding all my hurt

I see the colours slowly changing

Like your eyes against the light

And with the harvest moon above me

I recall them in the night

Bats are flying

Moths are dying

As I pray on broken knees

Putting all my faith in Janus

Underneath the Autumn trees

Take my bones

Take my hope

With the decaying of the leaves

Help me find a new beginning

Help me release the love I grieve
